Who are we?
The Grimsby and Cleethorpes Water Rats are an open water swimming club based in Grimsby and Cleethorpes, in North East Lincolnshire in the UK. The club is a community amateur sports club (CASC) run on a voluntary basis by its members with the primary aim of providing open water swimming opportunities to its members in a safe and nurturing environment and improving local facilities for the sport to secure ongoing participation for members (old and new) in the area.
Our members…
Our members cover all age ranges and abilities from novice and recreational swimmers to serious athletes. They include people training for specific events including triathlons of all distances and English Channel attempts as well as beginners to the sport, social swimmers and people just wanting to improve fitness or maintain their health and wellbeing. The club offers an inclusive and respectful welcome to all.
Our Aims
Swim
To secure safe and affordable open water swimming access to all swimmers in the Grimsby and Cleethorpes area.
Engage
To contribute to the wider local community by working with local organisations and groups to improve facilities and outcomes for all.
Educate
To provide support and guidance for swimmers at all levels regardless of personal targets or abilities to allow them to reach their goals.
